Biography
1952 Born in Greenwich, London
1973-75 Teacher of the Mentally Challenged.
My first opportunity to work with clay, using it in therapy.
1975-78 Bottega Scuola d'Arte Ceramica Kercrome,Padua, Italy.
Two year apprenticeship under Professor Schiavon and production of "Majolica " ceramics.
1978-79 Studied with "mingei" potters in Japan.
1979-81 Arte Ceramica Schiavon, Padua, Italy. Full time production potter.
1981-83 Further study with potters in Japan, focusing on ash glazes.
1984-85 Teacher of ceramics, Tokyo.
1983-91 Ceramic studio in Tokyo.
1992~ Potters Lane Studio,Kuroiso,Tochigi-ken, Japan

1975-78 Verona, Padua, Monte Grappa, Venice, Faenza and Bassano (Italy)
1984-94 Eleven solo exhibtions in Tokyo
1996-99 Three solo exhibitions at Mitsukoshi deptartment store, Shinjuku, Toyko

Field Trips
1978 India: Worked with local potters in Hampi, using traditional Indian techiniques.
1984 Peru: Worked with Shipivo Indians in the Amazon Basin. These women potters do not usually let men work them.
1985 Pakistan: Worked in a remote village,studying Islamic design and teaching Japanese design.
1986 Jamaica:Worked with a German potter and local potters.
1989 West Africa:Worked with female village potters in Mopti, Mali.
1981~ Visits to many kilns in Japan, to study local techniques and practices.
